Welcome to Five Element Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a system of medicine that has been used successfully for thousands of years. Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and acupressure massage all aim to treat the root cause of the imbalance, thereby providing a permanent solution.
SaAm Five Element (SAFE) Acupuncture was developed by Master SaAm (one of the three Great Physicians of the Korean Chosun Dynasty, 400 years ago) based on Huang Di Nei Zing and other classic scriptures of Chinese Medicine. It is called SaAm Acupuncture in Korea. SAFE acupuncture is effective and safe because it treats Five Element points which are found at the ends of limbs using the minimal (2 to 4) needles. As the acupuncture is mostly applied on hands or feet, the patients do not have to go through the inconvenience of taking off their clothes.
In conventional acupuncture, the study of 12 meridians focuses solely on the related organs, that is to say, only the vessels of Qi. In SAFE acupuncture, meridian is a matrix of Qi in six forms which are contained in twelve “vessels”, known as the internal organs. The six forms of Qi written next to the visceral organs are Taiyin, Shaoyin, Jueyin, Yangming, Taiyang, and Shaoyang. They can be paired with Moistness, Warmth, Wind, Aridity, Coolness, and Lightening respectively. The six forms of Qi perform a function in the physical world as well as in the mental. Concentrating on the vessels, but forgetting about what they contain is the reason for the atrophy of modern acupuncturology.
